What is Engineering?

Engineering is the application of scientific and mathematical principles to practical ends such as the design, manufacture and operation of efficient and economical structures, machines, processes and systems.

Why capture calculations?

With engineering calculations being used throughout the product development process, it is vital that these calculations are captured and shared as critical intellectual property. Existing Methods

Traditionally calculations are done through notebooks, calculators and reference books. These are unmanaged, undefined, uncontrolled and difficult to share and re-use. And often it is difficult to set up calculations that require more than the common plus, times, minus calculations without having a really good knowledge of excel.
